6th inning
I’m at the baseball fields.The Championship game if we win this we get first place. Playing baseball,people SCREAMING in the crowd. I know he’s going to steal second. My heart is pumping. I’m sweating,nervous,but I know I could throw him out. The pitcher looks at first base then throws the ball. The runner is running to second. I stand up and throw the ball down to second almost hit the pitcher but he just moved out of the way.
Present-Starting of the game
I drive up to the baseball fields unpacking my gear and catching gear. I get my Gatorade to go down the field. I put my bag on the fence gate. I tell coach Cory to warm-up with me. He has a ball and we go warm-up. My dad said,“You are going to catch” I mostly already knew that.
After I warmed-up the pitcher throws to me before the game started Cade Wheat is the pitcher. He throws me three pitches then I say “Coming down on two”.The first pitch came,then I threw it back and then the next pitch came Cade moved and I threw it down to second. My coach spoke to me,“Awesome throw down’’. The batter stepped up to the plate. The batter swings at the first pitch for a strike. The next pitch he hits it to second baseman. He gets the batter out. The next batter comes up. I tell Cade “Throw it low and outside’’. I know that this batter can hit hard, all the way to the fence. First pitch ball. Second pitch strike. Third pitch line shout to third. I tell everyone,“Two outs plays at first”. The third batter is up to bat. Cade throws it right down the middle the kid hits it right over the first baseman. The kid gets a double. I’m worried, but it’s only the first inning. The next batter is up. Cade looks at second then throws the ball. “The runner is running the players say’’. I get the ball throw it down to third base. The ump yelled “He’s out”. We go back in the dugout. They got three up three down on us.
2nd inning
The next batter on the Red Sox’s. Cade throws the first pitch for a ball. I show a sign to Cade “A Curveball”. He throws it. The batter hits the ball maybe a inch. I get it throw it to first. The next batter hits a pop-up to shortstop. The next batter strikes out looking. I say to Cade “Great pitching”. I start up to bat for the inning. The first pitch comes it’s a change-up right down the middle I hit it right in the gap of right center. I round first going to second I slide in for a double. The coach told me “Great hit also steal”. I nodded “Ok’’. The pitcher throws it I steal and make it safe. The pitcher throws the next pitch Cade hit a grounder to second but I make it home. It’s 1-0. The rest of the inning we get out.
3rd inning
Cade throws three up three down. We are up to bat one of our batters gets a single. The bottom of the order all get out so it’s the end of the inning.
4th inning
The Red Sox next batter comes up hits it to right field. The kid is fast he makes a triple. The next batter comes up. Cade throws him a change-up right down the middle he hits it all the way in the street. It’s a home-run. I was mad. Then we got the rest of the players out. The first batter on our team gets a single, but the rest of players get out.
5th inning
Cade he changes to first base. Logan Davis goes to pitcher. Logan warm-up with me then face the batter. The Red Sox are up to bat. Logan’s first pitch was a fastball for a strike. Next pitch Logan throw was a slur. He hit foul. Next pitch change-up to strike him out. The next batter steps in. Logan throw him a fastball he grounds out to shortstop. The next batter steps in. Logan throw him a slur. I get it throw it down to first base and get him out. We are now up to bat. The first person up to bat on the team groundout to first base. The next hits it to the fence for a double. Next one hits it between left field and center field. We score a point and the one that hit it got a double. It’s 2-2. Then the next one on our team struck out. The next one hit it barely an inch far from the pitcher.
6th inning
The Red Sox are up to bat. The first batter strikes out. The next batter comes up and walks. The next batter comes up. When Logan throws it the runner is running but it was past me back off the backstop. The batter evenly strikes out. Two outs runner on second. The next batter comes up. The runner on second steals I get the ball throw it down to third. The ump yelled “He’s out” We our up to bat know. The batter for our team gets walked. Next one strikeout. The runner on our team steals and gets safe. Next batter comes up grounds out to third base,but the runner is at third base. I come up to bat hit it right up the middle the runner scored. The next batter strikes out. BALL GAME!!!!
Winning
My dad told me, “If you didn’t make that throw we maybe would have lost and you hitting it right up the middle”. If you are not in it to win it, you will never accomplish anything.
